NYCC 2013: More News Bites Worth Reading

Two articles over at Bleeding Cool are worth pointing out immediately.
Both pertain to the Women of Marvel panel.  A panel that I hope continues to grow.

It covers a lot of interesting topics and continues to show this is an area of fiction that still has a lot to fight for.  I think it's best if I just turn you to the links in question.  There's not much I can add or really should add as Kelly Sue Deconnick puts it quite well.  You can check out both pieces here and here.

She's absolutely right too on all fronts.  The battles today on all topics of equality are things that need to be won so the children of tomorrow don't have to face them or will at least know they aren't alone in facing them.  If we want a better future for kids that haven't been born yet and the ones starting to grow up in this modern age,  we need to fight for it and win.

Do we not owe them that?

  1. so another month in the books and another announcement of Marvel Comics solicitations for January. For X-23 news she'll be in All-New X-men #21 and might have some issues with Jean Grey from the past. As for All-New X-Men #22 which comes out the same month and is the start of "The Trial of Jean Grey" crossover arc with the Guardians Of The Galaxy. I have no idea if she'll be in it or not.

    1. Thanks for the heads up! And yeah, I scoured the covers for the Trial of Jean Grey for any sign of her whatsoever, and I can't tell either. She might be sitting this one out, or she could be in there too.

  2. Personally I hope X-23 is in the crossover because that means she'll get a chance to meet Gamora of the Guardians Of The Galaxy. I think that this'll be a great meeting because they have a couple of things in common. For example, the both of them have been raised as tools of war/assassinations since they were little.

    1. It would make for her first real cosmic level story too, so it could be interesting if she is involved.
